From Hong Kong we went straight to Macau. We took a ferry from China Ferry Terminal in Hong Kong which brought us to Macau. It was a smooth touchdown.
Our first stop was the Macau Fisherman's warf. Amazing views. Great architectures. I felt like I was somewhere in Europe. That was not surprising thou because Macau was once a Portuguese Colony.
We also visited the Macau's Museum. I love going to this place because in a such a way I learned about their culture and heritage.
We passed by the Metropark Hotel for our buffet lunch. I enjoyed the Chinese cuisine as it's best.
After lunch we went directly to see the famous Ruins of Saint Paul. So many tourist during that time from different countries. I love watching people while having idle talk with my friends.
We also visited their highest building. The Macau Tower. Did I try bunjee jumping? Hell NO! I still love my life and I'm not that into extreme sport :P But I would suggest you go at the top of the building so you could see Macau in 360 view.
While my friends were busy looking for some things in the lil shopping center inside the building. I just sat at the lobby and relaxed. An amazing view outside where you could see Macau's longest bridge along the harbor.
So time to go to visit some temples.
Ama Temple is the oldest temple in Macau. Lots of buddist were there to pray. I was amazed of how they do their rituals.
And yes I so love cars! You can see those high-end cars just parking in every corner of the streets. BMW, Mercedes to name a few. I can't help myself but to strike a pose with this cool dude.
We finally decided to go back to the hotel and get some rest. We stayed in one of the Hotel in Taipa. The room was quite big but the bed was so hard that I can hardly sleep. It was an old hotel but it was clean thou.
We went out in the evening to see Macau at night. We just walked around the Taipa vicinity looking for a nice place to have dinner. We were lucky to meet a Pinay working in Macau and toured us to the beautiful destinations. She's working in a Hard Rock Cafe located in the City of Dreams as one of the chefs. We also had her 50 % employee discount. Beat that :)
Since we didn't plan of partying that night we were not dressed in our party outfits. We felt so off but who wouldn't care less.
We enjoyed the acoustic night. Singers were so good and their choices of song serenades us the whole evening. So this was the night life in Macau. Felt like HOME.
Before the buses routes to Taipa had their last trip from the City of Dreams (CoD) we left the Hard Rock Cafe after the 2nd set. On our way to the bus and taxi bay we were amazed on what we could see inside CoD. Lots of signature boutiques, amazing walls to look around and so we forgot that we had a last trip to beat :))
So we decided to take the public bus. We strolled around the area and walked to the next bus stop. We passed by the Venetian and so I took a picture of it. Amazingly beautiful view from the outside.
A bit rainy at that night and so freezing cold. There was a few people walking down the street, a very silent night and I just felt a bit creepy about the place. When I took pictures I can see a lot of orbs on it.
We've waited for 30 mins before a bus routes to Taipa came in. I felt a bit relief as soon as I leave the place. It took us 20 minutes before we arrived at Taipa. Before we slept that evening, we planned to wake up early the next morning to catch the goods at it's cheapest price on what they called wagwagan market which opens at 5:00 AM. Our newly found friend promised to pick us up to accompany us to the place.
03.05.13.
I was not sure why I had a hard time catching some sleep. I know I was dead tired but couldn't get myself to sleep. The hard bed was one thing, the creepy hotel was another. It was almost 3:00 AM when I finally fell myself to sleep, at 4:00 AM, my room mate woke me up as we need to go to Wagwagan. I've decided to just stay in the hotel to get more sleep. I forget that creepy room I was in and didn't bother the idea I would be left alone.
While I was sleeping, I felt like someone was with me in the room who was trying to strangle me until I lose my breath. She was a lady, an old lady. I know it was just a dream but it seems so real. I had the worst nightmare in my entire life in Taipa. I almost died.
After I gained my full conciousness I couldn't let myself to sleep again. I looked at my wrist watch and it just 5:30 in the morning. I was contemplating if I'll send my friends a message to come back but decided not to. I watched tv and set it in full volume to take away the creepy mood in the room. At 7:00 AM, finally they were back!!! I have told my room mate the story as she came back and she was not surprised because she also felt that bad spirit but she never told me earlier because it seems that I never felt it and she doesn't want to scare me. At some point, she told me she couldn't believe that I was so brave to stay and be left alone.
I just washed away all the negative vibes in the room and prayed. Truly prayed.
I was in a zombie-like mood when we had our hotel's compliment breakfast. Huh, good foods compensate all the terrifying experience I had with that hotel. Yes indeed, I enjoyed the variety of cuisine that Hotel has offered.
After breakfast, we've decided to go out and look around, we went to Senado Square, a shopping hub in Macau. I love people's watching as it can set my mind at ease.
And oh, there was a Starbucks, good thing has started coming in :)
I also realized that since Macau was once a Portuguese colony, you can see Catholic churches in most of the streets which I really love. We visited these churches and prayed. They say that if it's your first time to visit a particular Church, make a wish and it will come true. Proven and tested :)
After we said a little prayer, we strolled along Senado Square. Shop.Shop.Shop til you Drop.
After shopping, we dined at McDonalds. Everyone's lovin' it anyway :P
While were waiting for the bus to bring us back to Taipa, some lefties caught my attention. They were fighting for a good education. At least, di lang sa Pinas may nagra-rally, sa Macau meron din. Lol.
They say that you can visit Macau in just one day. True enough, because we don't know what to do next. And just to kill time before we leave Macau, my friends decided to play at the Casino of the hotel where we're staying. My first time to play thou and I enjoyed it. My 20 bucks went up to 500 bucks! Woohoo! :)
After two hours of playing, we've decided to just stay at the hotel lobby until the airport transfer picked us up for our flight back to Manila. That was the only hotel I've ever seen where the lobby was at the top floor of the building.
I am not sure if I still want to come back to Macau. Maybe Yes. Maybe Not.
But I can say that overall I still enjoyed Macau.
Til my next stop.
